Douro Wine

Douro wine is one of Portugal’s most prestigious and distinctive wines, produced in the Douro Demarcated Region — the oldest regulated wine region in the world, established in 1756, and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Born on the steep slopes of the Douro River Valley, this unique terroir is characterised by its schist soils and by its “heroic” viticulture, carried out on terraces sculpted by hand into the landscape.
